James joined Key Group as CFO at the start of 2026 and is responsible for leading the finance team, setting the financial targets of all group companies, and providing data-led insight to support strategic decision making.
Prior to this James was CFO at later life lending adviser, Age Partnership, and sister company lender Pure Retirement. He has held senior finance roles in financial services for 17 years, 12 of those as CFO or Finance Director, working across consumer credit, home credit, arrears management and asset-based lending. James has led on trade sales, worked with private equity, privately owned, AIM and fully listed companies, and delivered numerous successful business turnarounds. James started his finance career at Baker Tilly (now RSM) where his client portfolio included those across a diverse range of industries.
Throughout my career in financial services I’ve been a passionate advocate of financial products that meet consumer needs. I believe financial professionals working in the later life lending market can serve the institutions they support, while driving innovation and challenging existing offerings, so the range of products and the service provided to customers is the best it can be
